When Daddy's Away.....

Patrick left for his company's week long conference today. In his absence the twins and I decided to head to the zoo to beat our blues. The renovated Children's Zoo was open so the twins had a blast playing on the new playground and petting the goats.

To top it off, we took a ride on the train, which the twins love to do!

Taste of Cincinnati/Taste of the Past

Tonight we headed to Taste of Cincinnati. We met up with friends of ours that had boy/girl twins, Oliver and Grace, a year ago this July. It was a blast walking around and taking a stroll down memory lane watching the Russell twins!

Elaine had a taste of freshly roasted corn, Ethan was not into the food as much. He did enjoy drinking his BIG bottle of Gatorade that Patrick gave him. I cringed, but they did a great job and had minimal spills.

BUBBLES!!

The kids received some bubbles as a gift from and they were having some troubles getting the bubbles to work. Ethan told me that he bubbles were broken.

Jenny had to step in and make the bubbles work, then the kids got all excited.

Lowe's, Again....

Elaine was not thrilled to be at Lowes again. Little did she know we were getting stuff for her room!
And yes, That is Pop Tart on her face.... She would not let us wipe it off.

Toys in the Tub

The kids have come to like bath time and we cannot seem to get them out some nights. Why would you want to get out when there are toys in the tub!

Phillip's 1st Birthday

Today was Phillip's 1st Birthday. Since our new house has more bedrooms, we could have the entire Barker family stay with us. It was a lot of fun. The kids started the morning playing with Grandma while the boys were outside working on a project with Patrick. After lunch we headed over to Phillip's house to celebrate his 1st Birthday. The twins had a blast blowing bubbles, drawing with sidewalk chalk, eating cake and enjoying their time with all of their cousins. By the time it was over, the kids were exhausted!

Tonight the Barker Family came into town for Phillip's 1st birthday. We all met up at Dewey's Pizza for dinner. The kids had a blast watching the pizzas being made and Elaine had a good time showing her Daddy her book on shapes.

A Princess, a Wedding and a Trial Run

Wow! What a busy day. Aunt Jamie gave Elaine a princess crown one of her kids had gotten in a happy meal. We headed to Portillo's for lunch and then it was time to get ready for the wedding.

The twins were a little anxious at the wedding so Patrick and I took them into the cry room. Their cousins Isabel and James were already in there. Ethan made quite a splash at the wedding when he walked up to the glass and started pounding on it. The entire church turned around. Since it was one way glass, they couldn't see who did it and a lot thought it was Isabel. I couldn't let poor Isabel take the fall, so I let everyone know it was lovely Ethan.

After the wedding, the twins went up to the room with Morgan who got her first chance to watch them all by herself. We had connecting rooms with Jamie so it worked out perfectly. When we got back to the room from the reception downstairs we found Morgan passed out in her bed. Being the protective babysitter she had the monitor on full blast right next to her. It was really cute!

Chicago

Today we drove up to Chicago for our cousin Joslyn's wedding. The twins were really good on the ride up. Everyone got to the hotel on time and we headed to Weber's Restaurant. It was delicious but TOO much food! The grilled pizza was especially good! By the time we got back the twins were beat and headed off to bed.

Morgan's Fan Club

Today we headed to Dayton to see Morgan play soccer on her traveling team. It was a little colder & windy than we had thought so we had to grab some emergency jackets and blankets from the car.

After the game we treated everyone to what else....ICE CREAM! Yeah, we're crazy like that! Elaine was pooped and was fast asleep the entire time. She finally woke up right before we got back to Cincy. Luckily she can't read because she LOVES ice cream and would be really mad that we didn't wake her!

Cinco de Mayo

Today I ran down to Kentucky in preperation for the annual Cinco de Mayo party to celebrate Jenny's birthday. The kids had a lot of fun going into the HUGE walk-in beer cooler at The Party Source.
